Regrettably, an incident recently transpired resulting in a 54-year-old labourer meeting a fatal end after plummeting approximately 18 metres through an unfilled expanse at the peak of a silo. The tragic occurrence was brought to light close to 3pm.
Markedly, this casualty marks the fourth confirmed fatality on a worksite for the year of 2025 thus far. Disturbingly, the rate of work-related fatalities stood higher around the same timeframe in the preceding year recording 18 tragic ends.
