In a tragic turn of events, a 61-year-old gentleman tragically lost his life following a considerable fall from over three metres high through a skylight while collecting balls from the rooftop. The incident, which occurred around 2:30pm, resulted in severe head injuries leading to his unfortunate demise at the hospital on Friday.
WorkSafe has initiated an investigation into the incident, shedding light on the essential role that work safety products like WHS management systems, SWMS, and policies play in providing a safe working environment for all employees.
This sad occurrence marks the 23rd confirmed occupational death in 2024, contrasting with 41 work-related fatalities reported the previous year at the same time.
